Takahiro Matsumoto [3] (松本 たかひろ, Matsumoto Takahiro) is a second-year student at Sanada West High. He is a classmate of Yassan and an acquaintance of the High School Girls are Funky trio. He is usually seen conversing with his unnamed friend or Karasawa.

History[]

Takahiro attended East Yada Elementary as a kid. He was bullied a lot by the Archdemon as a result of which he, like many other boys, tremble upon hearing her name even in high school.

Appearance[]

Takahiro is of an average height and build. He has black eyes and dark violet hair worn in a style similar to Tadakuni's. His eyes are generally depicted with lines under them, giving him a sleepy/tired look.

He is usually seen wearing the all-black West High uniform.

Personality[]

Takahiro is generally mild-mannered and affable. It is stated that he doesn't understand girls at all, and he often has long conversations with his friend along these lines. He often finds himself in unfortunate situations due to others, but is nice enough to even lend his bicycle to a student from another school.

Trivia[]

  • Takahiro placed 32nd in the popularity poll, with 260 votes.
  • Takahiro's hair is dark brown[4] in the manga's colour spread.
  • Takahiro shares his full name with 'Tak' Matsumoto, the guitarist of the best-selling duo B'z. This is also why his unnamed friend is referred to as 'Inaba'.
  • Name etymology: The name Takahiro is written in hiragana (たかひろ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (貴大 or 孝浩), it could possibly mean:
    • 孝浩 - "filial piety, obedience" (孝) (taka) and "prosperous" (浩) (hiro).
    • Takahiro's surname Matsumoto means "pine tree, fir tree" (松) (matsu) and "base, root, origin, source" (本) (moto).
